We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer Associate to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) group. This position is eligible to work remotely and will come to the DC or NJ office as needed. The Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day Windows server maintenance and administration, including on-prem and Office 365 environments. The Mathematica ITS team pursues candidates with a broad set of technical skills, a history of delivering innovative and cost-effective IT solutions, and who are passionate about technology and confident in their ability to tackle difficult challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online recipient administration
  • Windows Active Directory administration
  • Participate in the review of anti-spam and other security policies within the 365 platform
  • Troubleshooting and analysis of technical or policy related issues
  • Assist with operational management of server infrastructure including deployment, configuration, and monitoring of server hardware
  • Update and maintain server operating systems
  • Maintain process documentation related to server infrastructure and administration
  • Manage and respond to ServiceNow tickets

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer-related field, or equivalent experience
  • 0-3 years' experience managing Windows systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users
  • General knowledge or experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • General knowledge or experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Entra ID
  • Experience with administering systems running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar tools a plus
  • Experience with Windows Server security hardening a plus
  • As a federal government contractor, all staff working in our central ITS group with access to corporate computer systems are required to successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of employment
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $60,000 - $70,000. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance. To apply, please submit a cover letter (optional), resume, location preference, and salary expectations.
