Position Description:

Mathematica is a nationally recognized research organization that conducts social policy studies on health care, disability, education, welfare, nutrition, and related topics. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Project Manager to work within our Enterprise Project Management Office within the Business Operations unit.  In this role you will work closely with senior project managers, project sponsors and stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess project risks, priorities, allocation of resources and will closely monitor the execution of detailed project plans.

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
o Plans and executes project based of project scope and objectives
o Ensures resource availability and allocation
o Develops a detailed project plan to track progress
o Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
o Reports and escalates to management as needed
o Manages the relationship with the project team and all stakeholders
o Performs risk management to minimize project risks
o Establishes and maintains relationships with third parties/vendors
o Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation

Position Requirements:

o Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high intensity project management environment
o Minimum of a BA or BS degree preferably in the computer science or, engineering field
o Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and other technologies
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
o Working knowledge of the project management lifecycle/PMBOK
o Understanding of Agile Project Management and DevOps principles
o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, or Project Online
o PMP Certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

o Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
o Understanding of project management concepts
o Accuracy with work, strong organizations skills, and attention to detail
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others
o Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure
o Ability to work independently for long periods of time
